Todd "Dr. Toad" Williams
1938-2007

Dear Friends,

With deepest sorrow, Toad Hollow Vineyards shares the sad news that our friend and founder, Todd “Dr. Toad” Williams, passed away on Tuesday, August 14 at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.  Though Todd battled a heart condition in recent years, he always managed to bring laughter and vitality to our daily life at Toad Hollow.

From veteran bar patrons to newest Wine Club members, everyone who encountered Todd has a “Todd Story.”  His passion for wine and vision of “wine for the masses” led him, with his good friend and colleague Rod Strong, to create this winery.  Todd’s big arms embraced everyone he met and his magnanimous nature created lasting friendships.

Our hearts are heavy now as we say goodbye to our beloved friend and mentor.  We appreciate all of your love and good wishes during this time of grief and look forward to your continuing support in the months and years to come as we continue Todd’s vision for our business.

Todd strongly believed that local organizations can make a profound impact on people’s daily lives. The Boys and Girls Club of Healdsburg and the Norma and Evert Person Heart Institute held special places in his heart.  We request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to these organizations.  Their addresses are:
